Series: Unexpected, book 3
Release date: October 1, 2015
Simon McLeod was a promising young naval captain before his ship was attacked and CIA agents forced him to fake his death and join their ranks. Since that horrible night, Simon has focused on finding the men responsible for ending his career. He’s close now, but he needs help from the man he loves. The problem is Edgar is straight, has no idea how Simon feels, and threatened to strangle him the last time they were together.
After years of using his medical expertise to patch Simon up after ill-advised missions, Edgar told Simon not to come running to him anymore. Watching Simon self-destruct was too painful. But when Simon shows up on Edgar’s doorstep covered in blood, Edgar can’t turn him away. He also can’t fight the feelings he has for Simon, feelings that go way beyond friendship.
Neither man thought he’d ever truly be happy again, but if they can survive a final dangerous mission, they might be able to prove themselves wrong.

“Edgar?” No response. “Edgar!” He forced himself up as he scanned the room for a weapon. Then he heard footsteps.
“Si, I’m here. It’s okay.” Edgar appeared in the doorway drenched in sweat, wearing only a pair of gym shorts. “I was working out. I didn’t hear you at first.”
Si couldn’t decide what he wanted to do more: tell Edgar off for what he’d done or relieve him of his minimal clothing and taste the thick cock he could see outlined through them. Damn, Edgar was hot like that—sweaty, worn out, hazel eyes sparkling. Edgar might have given up fieldwork, but he hadn’t gone soft, that was for damn sure. Simon wanted to run his hands over Edgar’s firm pecs and feel the rasp of hair on his fingers. He wanted to hold onto Edgar’s shoulders while Edgar claimed him, owned him. Wait… where the hell had that come from? Simon shook his head. The drugs must still be fucking with him.
He remembered waking or half waking a few times. Edgar had been there. He’d forced Simon to drink more water. Had he made him eat too? Simon wasn’t sure what he’d dreamed and what was reality. He hoped to God he hadn’t said anything to Edgar about wanting him. He’d sure had some powerful dreams about Edgar—naked, in bed, giving Si what he craved.
“Are you okay?” Edgar asked.
Simon scowled at him. “No. You fucking drugged me. How long did I sleep?”
